To be a good father, it would be best to model Jesus to your children. The character qualities describing Jesus in Phil. 2 are; humility, obedience, and sacrifice.

If you follow your Heavenly Father like Jesus did, your children are sure to take notice. We certainly aren’t perfect as earthly fathers, but if you desire to model Jesus, He’ll give you power and ability to do it!
