A primary goal in parenting is to ‘train up a child in the way he should go’. (Eph. 6:4) And that way is God’s way. As created by God in His image, we are called to live by His plan and His ways.

Respond

We can’t make all the decisions for our children. But, we can help protect and prepare them for the world in which they will live. As a parent, I hope that as my children grow in wisdom and stature, they also grow in their love for Jesus and keep Him first in their lives.

It takes intentional effort as a parent to ‘train up a child in the way he should go’. We can do our best, and the child can still stray. But, as a faithful father, we continue to pursue our children all their days, encourage and love them as Christ loves us. Always praying for them.

What parents wouldn’t want to hear and see that their children are walking in the truth?

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
